The Large Blue Butterfly has vanished from Britain. In the latest research, this is the tip of the iceberg. The scientists studied wildlife data stretching back several decades. They found that over a quarter of plant species have declined significantly. That more than a half of bird species have reduced, but then nearly three quarters of butterfly types have declined, with two species dying out all together. The sciensits' base their study on a vast ammount of data gathered form all over Britain - 15 million measurements in all. So their conclusion does have to be taken seriously. Which is - that the extinctions that we are witnessing right now are getting close to the scale of what happened to the Dinosaurs. The Dinosaurs suffered what's called "The Fifth Great Extinction" - the claim now is that "The Sixth" is about to start - that is quite a claim.
